Mosquito Fixes Bruise

I got my first mosquito bite of the season on a bike ride last Thursday, March 3, an unusually warm day. In the picture, you can see a dark bruise, circled in purple, which is bleeding just under the skin. This is common for me since I had a heart attack a couple years ago, had two stents placed in heart arteries, and am now on a blood thinner medication for the remainder of my life. One side effect of the blood thinner is easy bleeding under the skin, as well as easily caused wounds that don't stop bleeding easily.

Prior to the bike ride, I had dark bruises where both the purple and red circles are in the picture. Somewhere in Davis County, I noticed a mosquito attached to my arm, and I brushed it off. After the ride, I noticed that the blood just under the skin where the mosquito was working had disappeared. I assume it's in the belly of a happy Davis County mosquito now. The spot is swollen and itchy, but the dark blood is gone.
