Jackson Turns 6

Tuesday, June 8, was Jackson's sixth birthday. Because Amy was coming on Tuesday, and we weren't sure what time, Sara decided Monday would be a less crowded day for his party. We planned far in advance and reserved Pavilion 3 at Murray Park. But Sunday was unusually hot, and following a cool May, when not so much snow melted in Little Cottonwood Canyon, a lot of snow turned to runoff, and together with thunder showers on Sunday night, the water overflowed Little Cottonwood Creek, and by Monday morning Murray Park was under several feet of water.
I don't know who this lady is, but she is somewhere near the sidewalk on State Street at the entrance to the park. Also notice the lake in the background, where grass and a road should be.

Pavilion 3 is one of these pavilions over by Parkside School. Consequently, we moved the party to Walden Park, which is on 1070 West and just south of 5400 South, on the Jordan River Parkway.

Opening presents with Caleb and Emi.

The kids had fun playing kick ball with Jackson's new Spider Man ball.

All the kids. Murray has several of these nice small neighborhood parks.

That was a fun party. Remember how many more pull-ups than Jared I did?

I thought I left a comment but I guess I didn't. Thank you for reserving that park for us!!! That was a fun party. Too bad it was kind of rainy and cold. It was really nice of everybody to come out. We appreciate what you did and thanks for picking up the cake too!
