Might I suggest that if you go snowshoeing, pull the drawstring at the top of your gators tight. Unless you want to take a couple quarts of snow home as a souvenir. Might I also suggest you get a pair of Merrell Snowmotion 6 Waterproof boots. These are the best all-around winter shoes I've ever owned. They're great for walking around the neighborhood, shoveling the driveway, rabbit hunting in Nevada, and showshoeing (assuming you cinch your gators). The only drawback is they turn into ice skates in stores with asphalt tile floors and a touch of moisture.
One of these snowflakes is in focus. Can you tell which one? Neither can I. Guess I need to work on this shot.

I think it's called North Fork (of the Provo River), about 12 miles up the canyon from Kamas. The road is closed for snowmobiling another two or three miles past here. Go to http://pages.globetrotter.net/roule/utmgoogle.htm and enter the following UTM coordinates: xTM Eastings: 0491915, xTM Northings: 4493709, xTM Zone: 12, and from the pull-down: T. Click on Display and it will take you to a Google map. This is a pretty easy hike with little elevation (or avalanches), but it's pretty with lodgepoles and aspens and not nearly as many people as Millcreek Canyon. The trail is a single track packed by snowshoers and x-country skiers, but the area is pretty open for exploring in deep snow, if you want a workout. There are a couple other trails along the road, but this is the only one with parking for more than two or three cars. This is also where the famous Uinta Snowshoe Ghost Ursel hangs out.
